Marrakesh is the cultural hub of Morocco and booming with vibrant design, restaurants, bars, and experiences to keep anyone busy for days! The Agafay Desert is...well, a desert! It’s located about 45 minutes outside of Marrakesh, and provides the perfect backdrop to highlight the vast Moroccan landscape from the Atlas Mountain to their endless deserts.

Morocco does not require tourist visas for any US, UK or EU citizen. Passports must be valid for 6 months beyond your scheduled return to the US. For example, you return to the US on March 1st, 2024, your passport must not expire before September 1st, 2024 or you may be denied boarding upon departure in the US. If you live outside of the US, please check your issuing government websites for accurate information.

None, thankfully.

The current approximate conversion rate is 10 MAD to 1 USD. Most major restaurants, bars, and hotel outlets accept credit cards. AMEX is hit or miss so I always bring a Visa or Mastercard as well. I recommend withdrawing some local currency ($100 USD approx.) upon arrival at the airport for additional tipping or should you be brave enough to take taxis or a horse buggy in Marrakesh. You may also want some cash if visiting the medina in Marrakesh and not all vendors will accept credit cards.

We recommend all genders cover their knees and shoulders if entering a mosque, temple or church and when walking around Marrakesh. Within the hotel confines and the desert portion of this trip, ANYTHING GOES!
-
Morocco is technically a dry country, but certain hotel establishments and dining venues have special permits that allow the consumption of alcohol within their boundaries. I do not recommend testing this policy and carrying open or obvious containers of alcohol for any reason whatsoever...Vinny.
I tried my best, but for tequila drinkers I procured the best possible option I could...I don’t want to hear about it when there!
